2. Explore Stone Town

Stone Town is full of history and Zanzibarian Culture. Go to the Old Fort and visit the beautiful Palace Museum, or the National Museum (commonly known as the House of Wonders) to learn about the history of the place.

3. Prison Island

Changuu Island or Prison Island is full of adventure for kids of all ages. Take the Historical tour and educate the children about the rich history of Prison Island and rebel prisoner captives. Visit the colony of giant tortoise imported from the Seychelles Islands. Relax and enjoy a picnic on the picturesque beach. 

4. Zanzibar Butterfly Centre

The Butterfly Centre should be on every Zanzibar traveller's list! Here you will find an interactive butterfly exhibit in the form of a tropical garden filled with hundreds of butterflies indigenous to Zanzibar. Enjoy a guided tour and level up your knowledge on these beautiful creatures and their life cycles. 5. Swim With Dolphins

Swimming with dolphins is an activity for every bucket list, young and old! Dolphins are friendly creatures so swimming with dolphins at the Kizimkazi Beach Village is a wonderful experience, especially for kids! You also have the option of snorkelling with bottlenose and humpback dolphins.

6. Nungwi Beach

Numgwi Beach is one of Zanzibar's most popular beaches. With great scenery and a tranquil vibe, it's a wonderful place for families to relax and enjoy the island sun. The soft sand, clear blue sea, and breathtaking sunset make the experience unforgettable. Activities like kitesurfing and diving are also easily accessible from the beachfront!

7. Dhow Trip

Dhows are wooden sailboats used in Zanzibar, other Indian Ocean islands and as far as the Red Sea. These sailing boats have been around for centuries and historians are still at odds as to whether they were invented by Arabs or Indians. Hire a dhow for the morning, evening or the day and go sailing, snorkelling and sunset or sunrise. There are also numerous dhow trips available with entertainment, barques and fresh food, while you sail to surrounding Islands and sites.

8. Mnemba Island

A tiny secluded Island located off the shore of Uguja, Mnenba is a true gem of Zanzibar. This green turtle refuge might be small but there is so much to see. Sail to Mnemba, and indulge in kayaking and swimming or even scuba diving and snorkelling for the bigger kids. A great day out or location to spend a few nights with the family.

9. Zanzibar Kilosas Conservation

Primarily a conservation project aimed at preserving natural fauna and flora of Zanzibar, The Kilosas Conservation is also home to numerous animals and bird species. Here families can feed and touch numerous species of monkeys, antelopes, chameleons, deers, and lemurs!

10. Street Food Tasting

For all the food enthusiasts, Zanzibar offers fresh, cheap, and tasty street food, which can be an authentic and enriching experience for both adults, and children.
