Mombasa’s Best DJ Turn Up
Music is the life of any party but without the right DJ on the scene, it may not go quite right. The bars and clubs with the best DJ’s tend to have a higher patronage naturally. If you are planning for your birthday, engagement or wedding party in Mombasa, here is a list of best DJ’s to check out.
1. DJ PHAUZ
He is one of the most popular DJ’s in Mombasa backed with 10 years of experience in switching the beats. His real name is Faiz Said and he has played in many trendy bars and clubs in the city including the Big tree Beach bar, Bob's bar, La Follia, Club Lambada and The Lounge City Mall. He has gone beyond disc jockeying to setting up clubs around Kenya including the Sky Lounge club in Mombasa. DJ Phauz is also a host on television and radio shows. His stints include hosting Startimes Triple T and radio shows on Baraka and Pwani FM respectively.
2. DJ Kaytrixx
DJ Kaytrixx also known as KabochiGakau came into the limelight as a student back in 2008 through the avenue of the Pilsner Mfalme competition where he finished in the fifth position. After this, he got a job at Code Red where he stayed for two years before he launched his solo career. His achievements include hosting live music entertainment show; Str8Up Live on KTN. At present, he owns Spin Cycle Entertainment Limited.
3. DJ Joe MFalme
Joseph Wenda popularly known as DJ Joe MFalme is an award-winning disc jockey having been nominated for the Best DJ Africa AFRIMMA Award in 2016. He started his hands at being a DJ from the young age of 13 and steadily moved up the ranks in Mombasa. He is notorious for keeping at pace with latest musical releases across the continent and has performed in several countries including the US and South Africa. DJ Joe MFalme also hosts radio shows at Capital FM, Mombasa, Kenya.

4. DJ Mr T.
DJ Mr T. became widely known as part of CodeRed Entertainment. Since then he has become a sensation in several cities in Kenya including Nairobi, Nakuru, Meru and Mombasa. In Mombasa, he has appeared in big clubs such as Sheba, Bobs and Bellavista. He has had a stint at KTN and with other popular brands.

5. DJ Bonez
This is another DJ who has rocked the Mombasa scene for over a decade. One of his most popular appearances was at the Esir Memorial Concert. He has had an active career so far that involves playing 4 to 5 nights in a week. He has appeared at most beach parties and clubs in Mombasa dishing out amazing sounds. He can be found at Sheba Lounge, Mombasa where he deejays regularly.
6. DJ Bunduki
This award-winning DJ has made an impressive statement on the Mombasa entertainment scene. He is the founder and CEO of GettoSupastarz Entertainment, a company which organises entertainment events across Kenya. He had worked as an in-house deejay for several clubs in Mombasa before launching his solo career.
7. DJ Sashy
Standing out in a male-dominated career, DJ Sashy is one of Mombasa’s leading female DJs. She was one of the 2015 Stylus DJ Awards Nominees and can be found performing at Club Tapas in Mombasa where she works as a resident DJ.
8. DJ Elonn
He is a pro DJ that has risen through the ranks to form a firm niche for himself in Mombasa. He has been a 3-time finalist at the popular Mfalme competition and has worked with various brands and media outfits. He has also had a major stint as a TV/Radio host. Due to his versatility, he is able to cover a wide range of events from corporate gatherings to casual hangouts.
9. LEE THE DEEJAY
A young chap on the beats; he started his disc jockeying career learning from the older DJs he assisted. His upbeat energy while he performs sets him apart from others and can set any crowd jiving to the eclectic beats. He is currently signed to the Spincycle Entertainment label and has worked on a number of popular shows including Coke Studio Launch at KICC. His favourite genres of music include R&B, Hip Hop, Old/new school, Urban, Reggae, Caribbean and Soul.
10. DJ RONYLE
Rolland NyaleMwango who goes by the stage name of DJ Ronyle is well known in Mombasa entertainment circles. He got his first DJ gig at Bigtree Beach Hotel, Mombasa and since then he has featured in other popular clubs including Lafollia, Mingles and Konekone. DJ Ronyle has also been on a couple of radio shows including Pwani FM and Baraka FM studios.
