  7. April Highlights In East...

With Tanzania’s endless scenic landscapes and Kenya’s impressive national parks, East Africa has a lot to offer to its tourists!

Tanzania is one of the earliest inhabited regions on Earth. Scientists have found fossil remains of various species dating back 2 million years! Travellers and merchants from all over the world would travel to this East African coast, giving it the rich culture that it has today.

Kenya is also home to numerous national parks and endless wildlife. April is generally a wet month in East Africa, which means everything will become a lot cheaper this month! Here’s why you should visit East Africa in April:

Watch one of the “New Seven Wonders of the World”

Over the wild and huge plains of Tanzania, you get to see millions of wildebeests and zebras migrate from Serengeti to the Masai Mara in Kenya. The Great Migration of Serengeti has been termed by USA Today as one of the “Seven New Wonders of the World.”

In April, the Great Migration just crosses Serengeti, so it’s a great time to watch the migration in full action! Take a step out of your everyday routine and book a trip to Tanzania this April to witness the amazing wildlife interactions! You can also go on a hot air balloon trip in Serengeti!

Explore Arusha National Park

Arusha National Park should be on your checklist once you arrive in Tanzania. You can make fun picnic plans in the park, take forest walks or go on a 3 to 4-day climb to Mount Meru (if you’re up for it.) April is the best time to observe migratory birds in Arusha and it’s off-season so the park won’t be overcrowded as well!

Visit Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara’s beauty is at its peak in April when the scenery is lush green! Migratory birds are also found in this season. Wildlife viewing is great throughout the year. You can spot tree-climbing lions, elephants, buffaloes, wildebeests and zebras!

Get stunned by the beauty of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area provides excellent wildlife viewing throughout the year. So, what makes the month of April special? Well, you can get accommodation here for half the price in April! That’s because April is considered off-peak season! Get a lodge as close to the rim as you can for half the price.

The vegetation is lush green in April. Moreover, this is also a great time for viewing migratory birds! Beware of thunderstorms and make sure you check the weather forecast before planning your trip here in April!

It’s home to over 500 species of birds, which include Yellow-collared lovebird, tawny eagle and ashy starling.

Wander the streets of Stone Town in April

Stone Town is a city in Zanzibar Island, Tanzania, that is full of mystery and allure. The best way to start your tour in this town is to just wander in its narrow streets and absorb the beauty and distinct architecture. You can also check out the amazing art galleries there that sell vibrant African oil paintings.

Explore the churches and mosques and taste delicious local street food while doing so. If you go to their beach, don’t forget to check out the Old Fort right next to it which is dated back to the 18th century. April is one of the best months to visit Stone Town because the temperature is moderate, not too high and not too low!

If you visit the Amboseli National Park in April, you’ll get to observe many migratory birds, including common redshank, African swamphen, yellow-necked spurfowl and spike-heeled lark!
