  7. Find Beautiful Beaches Close...

Kenya is home to some of the most famous and popular beaches in Africa and many of them are located in the coastal area of the country. If you ask Nairobians where they go to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, they’ll probably mention the beautiful towns on the Kenyan coast.

There are stunning beaches for a relaxing getaway within an hour flight of Nairobi or a few hours road trip. If you’ll like to take the SGR train, they are about four hours away from the city of Nairobi. You could take a time out to relax and enjoy the beautiful beaches on the coast; so why not grab your sunnies and flip flops for a day trip to the beautiful Kenyan beaches.

Here are some of the beautiful beaches near Nairobi if you want to take your leisure a step further from the city:

1. Copacabana Beach, Mtwapa

It’s no news that an average Nairobian loves a good party, and Copacabana beach is an easy choice. Located a few kilometres in the north of Mombasa, the beach is a nice place to relax, soak up some sun and indulge in some water activities in the Indian Ocean as well as the endearing Mtwapa creek. The beach is quiet during the day but comes alive at night for that party vibe.

2. Diani Beach

Regarded as one of the most beautiful beaches in Africa, Diani beach is not to be missed. It’s also a popular beach in the south of Mombasa and it has quite the charm and appeal. The white sandy beach stretches along the Indian Ocean on Kenya’s coast featuring several beachfront getaways and luxury resorts. Here, you can indulge in a wide range of water activities such as snorkelling among colourful reefs, scuba diving, and kitesurfing. You’ll also find a wide range of restaurants and bars for delicious meals on the beach.

Because of its proximity to Mombasa town, there are shopping complexes for visitors to buy goodies before they head to the beach. The white sands and palm trees make it quite scenic too.
