Fly with FlySax

A look inside FlySax

Flying is often the priciest part of every holiday plan, but Fly Sax supports an unending sense of wanderlust with low-cost fares to visit your favourite East African destinations.  People who fly with FlySax always wish that all their flights were run by this low-cost carrier.

Important information for passengers

Fly-Sax is a premier charter airline in Nairobi operating out of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and the Wilson Airports. It runs daily scheduled flights to safari destinations within and outside Kenya. Flight bookings can be done online or on-phone, as well as through local travel agents. If you have a change in your travel plans and want to cancel your booking, it can be processed if initiated 8 hours prior to takeoff. The airline is renowned as the best private charter and safari airline out of Nairobi with both scheduled and unscheduled flights being flown within Kenya and to other East African countries including Tanzania.

Baggage Allowance

Fly-Sax has a baggage allowance limit of 20kg per passenger but 15 kg for safari destinations due to the size of the aircraft. The airline allows only soft bags instead of larger suitcases which can occupy more space in the cargo section of the plane. Flammable liquids, as well as radioactive materials, are prohibited on the airline. Pets are however welcomed, as long as they are kept in a cage and have correct vaccination papers.  If you have additional luggage, you’ll be charged extra fees. For hand luggage, you may carry a handbag, laptop, an umbrella, duty-free goods and small items of scientific or photographic equipment.

Flying with Children

Passengers with children are given priority boarding and unaccompanied minors between the ages of 6 and 17 are escorted by a friendly member of our staff.

Unaccompanied Children

We welcome unaccompanied children between the ages of 6 and 17 as long as they hold government issued photo ID or passport and a letter of consent from their parent or guardian.

Fly-SAX does not accept unaccompanied minors under the age of 5 for travel. Guardians or parents are asked to complete the airlines UM (unaccompanied minor) form at check in.No more than one infant (being children under the age of two years on the date of travel) per accompanying person are allowed.

Children aged two years or over must occupy their own seat and pay the published fares.

It is the accompanying person’s responsibility to ensure that the minor is adequately secured into the aircraft seat. To this end Fly-SAX will accept a car seat supplied by the accompanying person for any child over six months for whom an airline seat has been purchased, provided that the car seat has a rigid metal or plastic frame, is no wider than 42cm, has a four point harness and is upright and forward facing.

  • If an adult is travelling with more than one infant under the age of two years, but no less than six months, one infant may sit on the accompanying adult’s lap and the other infant(s) must occupy separate seats and may be seated in a car seat.
  • An adult with two or more infants aged six months or less cannot be accepted for travel.
  • A child between the ages of two and three years may be seated in a car seat.

Fly-SAX does not operate an indemnity policy and therefore under no circumstance, under the Children Act, must another passenger be asked to accept responsibility during the flight of an unaccompanied minor.

Check-in

Fly-Sax requires that passengers check in 40 minutes prior to departure for domestic flights and 2 hours for international flights. Boarding tends to begin about 20 minutes to departure while the boarding gates will close 10 minutes before departure time.

Cabin Classes available

Fly-Sax has a large fleet of small sized aircraft used for both domestic and regional flights and as such there are no classes for the seats. Each seat is, however, comfortable with adequate legroom for the passengers.
