A Look Inside Precision Air

Precision was established in 1993 as a private charter company providing tourists connections to visit natural attractions in northern Tanzania from Serengeti National park to Zanzibar Islands.

In 10 years since its inception in 2003 a major stake of the airline was acquired by Kenya Airways and since then Precision air has gone on to new heights.

Namely trading publicly on the stock exchange along with increasing its fleet size and expanding its routes dramatically, It is now in its 23rd year of operation.

Precision’s Air is renowned for their energetic, luxurious and consistent services as well an extremely professional team their services are highly customer oriented.

This has not gone unnoticed by the travel community and Precision Air have won numerous awards such as the Best Domestic Scheduled Airline in Tanzania 2013 by the Tanzania Society of Travel Agents and the Bronze Award in the African Airline of the Year Awards 2011/2012 awarded by African Aviation News portal

Important information for passengers

Baggage Allowance

Precision Air has a standard baggage allowance policy for both domestic and regional flight tickets

Domestic baggage allowance is restricted to the following for economy class travel:

Adults: 23 kgs
Children: 23kgs
Infants: 10kgs and the addition of a collapsible stroller
Infants who have paid child fare occupying a seat: 23kgs

Regional and international baggage allowance is restricted to the following for economy class travel:

Adults: 23 kgs
Children: 23kgs
Infants: 10kgs and the addition of a collapsible stroller
Infants who have paid child fare occupying a seat: 23kgs

Excess baggage will incur additional charges

Flying with Children

Precision Air currently has no special considerations for passengers travelling with minors

Check-in

Check-in can only be done at the Precision Air terminal and must be completed 1 hour before domestic departure and 2 hours before regional or international departure

Cabin Classes available

Depending on your route you are travelling on and the aircraft servicing the specific route, Precision Air offers its clients the option of economy and business class seating

Precision Air is a Tanzanian airline based at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam. Precision Air operates scheduled passenger services to Nairobi and airports in Tanzania.

Precision Air flies to the following destinations: Dar-es-Salaam, Zanzibar, Kilimanjaro, Mwanza, Kigoma, Mtwara and Bukoba. Precision Air’s headquarters is at Dar es Salaam and flies to over 10 destinations within and outside Tanzania from its main hub.

Precision Air does not travel internationally apart from the regional routes we’ve mentioned above. However, they do have codeshare agreements with Kenya Airways, LAM Mozambique Airlines, RwandAir. Precision Air has an interline agreement with Qatar Airways connecting destinations such as Arusha and Zanzibar via Dar es Salaam.

Fleet Information

Precision Air has recently undergone a modernization makeover as of 2010 with new state of the art aircraft being purchased. Its current fleet consists of 9 aircrafts all made my french aircraft manufacturer ATR.
