EEB Airport Guide
Entebbe International Airport, also known by its IATA Code EEB and ICAO Code HUEN, is the principal, largest and busiest international airport in the Republic of Uganda.
This is Uganda’s principal international airport, gateway and the HQ of the Civil Aviation Authority of Uganda. It’s a modern international airport that has all the facilities and conveniences that you would expect from any international airport in the world.

Entebbe International Airport is located in Entebbe City, right smack on the shores of Lake Victoria. The precise location of the airport is on the South Western corner of Entebbe, abutting the bay of Entebbe.
It is bordered on the West, South and East by the lake and on the North East by the Airport Road which is an extension of the Kampala Entebbe road. And is 42 kilometers south-west of the commercial and administrative capital of Uganda, Kampala.
Getting Here
- Taxi – For USD $ 40 – $ 50 (do bargain hard) you will get a taxi from the city Kampala to Entebbe airport it’s faster and hassle free. From the airport to Kampala the yellow-band taxis charge USD $25 standard fee.
- Preferred Mode– Taxi, it’s not only more comfortable but is faster and roomier than getting on a Kamunye (public service taxi).
- Shuttle Bus- The airport does not operate one, but the tour operators operate they own.
- Alternatives – There are public passenger transport vehicles, known locally as kamunye, which ply the Entebbe-Kampala road located right by the main entrance to the airport. To or from Kampala expect to pay UGX 3000 (USD $ 1) for a 45 minute to 1 hour trip depending on traffic.
- Car Parking & Fees
There is an automated POS parking and charges are as follows for a saloon car entering the airport;
Minimum 1 hours – UGX 2000 (USD 0.6 $) additional charges are UGX 500 (USD 0.15 $) per hour up to 24 hours.
Long-term overnight parking (24 hours) – UGX 10,000 (USD 3 $)
Extended parking – UGX 60,000 (USD 20 $) per month.
- Auxiliary Information
The taxis and car hire vehicles will pick and drop you within the terminal, right at the entrance to the lounge. And there are uniformed porters ready to help you with your luggage, for a small tip.
Kiosks – There are kiosks that sell curios at the airport terminal in addition to the duty free shops that stock western goods. There is plenty of reading material to keep you busy after you land.
Hotels & Transit Accommodation
There are several 2 to 4-star hotels located around the airport which offer all the modern conveniences. They include; The Executive Airport Hotel (5 minutes away), Airport View Hotel and 2Friends Beach Hotel.
