Not to Miss During Flights
Leaving the commercial capital of Tanzania your route will take you across 4 coasts: Tanzania, Zanzibar’s southeast and Northwestern, and finally Pemba’s southern tip en route the mid-eastern side of the island.
See the Fumba peninsula of southeastern Zanzibar, the Jozani Forest and then Chwaka Bay on the island’s east coast as you then continue over the ocean. Out of the plane’s left side, you’ll be able to track your path as you see the many beautiful beaches and resorts of Zanzibar, not to mention the immense reefs surrounding the island. Before losing sight of Zanzibar, you’ll be able to spot the exclusive Mnemba island and popular dive area of the atoll.
As you cross over Pemba, see Panza, Jombe islands below, and the slightly bigger Matumbini and Makoomgwe islands to the west. If you’re lucky, you’ll pick up how Misali, Kokota and Uvinje island protects the western shores of this paradise.
The oft prevailing northerly winds will make the lineup and approach for Mnemba airport barely noticeable
