Distance and Flight Time
Direct flights from Eldoret to Nairobi land at Nairobi International Airport. It is also possible to get to Nairobi via Lodwar, a pleasant but expensive and long-winded way of doing the journey.
Not to miss during flights
The direct, 50-minute flight, covering 270 km (168 miles) takes you from the highlands on a beautifully scenic route; mountains, valleys and lakes. The journey is akin to an ‘air safari’.
A little over a third into your flight off to the right will be the South Western Mau National Reserve and minutes later Lake Nakuru will come into view on the left. There is a good chance the routing will take you overhead Lake Naivasha with Hells Gate National Park on its southern boundary.
The approach to Nairobi Intl is past Mount Suswa Conservancy and to the northeast of Nairobi National Park, having passed over the United Nations headquarters and large parts of the city.
