Most flights from Serengeti-Seronera to Kilimanjaro are conducted by light planes, mainly small Cessna aeroplanes which can carry from 9 to 13 passengers.  Flying from JRO, you will catch a glimpse of Arusha National Park and Mount Meru Forest Reserve. Airport & Layover Tips

Explore one of Tanzania’s smaller airports also known as the Kilimanjaro Airport which services hundreds of domestic, regional and international travellers each week. Once landed at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you proceed through Immigration and collect your bags and go to the exit to meet your transfer. If you do not have a pre-arranged transfer.

Upon leaving the airport you will see that there is no shortage of travel alternatives when leaving the airport with a range of rental car agencies, cabs, buses & shuttles all just a call away. Kilimanjaro Airport is located approximately 40kms from Arusha and 30kms from Moshi Town, which is the start point for any Kilimanjaro Climb. It takes about an hour and a half to drive to Arusha and Moshi is under an hour.

Seronera airstrip is located in the centre of Serengeti National Park in the Mara region. When you arrive at the airstrip, you can either board another plane to continue your journey or get transportation to your destination. There is a small tented facility where you can wait for your plane if it hasn’t arrived. There are several tented camps and safari lodges near the airstrip. You can pre-book your accommodation and also pre-arrange your pickup, which will be waiting for your arrival at the airstrip. The major attractions in the Serengeti National Park include Seronera, Serengeti Hippo Pool, Naabi Hills, Olduvai Gorge and Grumeti River.
