You will take off to the west on your flight from Nairobi to Kilimanjaro, with Nairobi National Park on your left, then circle to head south to Tanzania with Oloolua forest and Ngong Hills Nature Reserve visible on your right. You will continue South through Kenya with Chyulu Hills Reserve visible in the distance, and then cross the border into Tanzania over Mount Longido Forest Reserve with the magnificent Mount Kilimanjaro on your left.
If you prefer to get a better lay of the land you can also travel by ferry to the mainland and then by road by hiring a car or booking a bus, travelling by road you will have to cover around 680 kilometres which should take you just under 13 hours and 50 minutes to complete.

Kilimanjaro Airport is located approximately 40kms from Arusha and 30kms from Moshi Town, which is the start point for any Kilimanjaro Climb. It takes about an hour and a half to drive to Arusha and Moshi is under an hour.
