Changuu Island, also called Prison Island, has immense historical significance and its historic buildings have been renovated and transformed for practical use. The island was used as a prisoner for rebellious slaves in the past and then served as a quarantine island for the sick.
Today, the island has a total of 27 cottages. 12 of these have been constructed on the previous quarantine facilities while 15 cottages have been constructed on the other part of the island.
